Two Oswego Bears cheer teams to compete for national championship : News Items for the Oswego Bears : Oswego Bears Football & Cheer
The Oswego Bears Midget Cheer Squad won the Mid-America Regional Competition to qualify for Nationals which will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The Oswego Bears Junior Pee Wee Cheer Squad finished second at the Mid-America Regional Competition to qualify for Nationals which will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

By taking first at the Pop Warner Mid-America Regional cheer competition, the Oswego Bears Midget-level cheer squad earned a place at the Nationals Competition to be held at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the week of December 3rd through the 10th.

A second Oswego Bears squad qualified for the Nationals by finishing as the runner-up in the Junior Pee Wee Mid-America Regional tournament which was held at Northern Illinois University Convocation Center.

Junior Pee Wee coach Brandi Kapusinski spoke for her fellow coaches, "We, as a first year program, are so unbelievably proud of these girls and their coaches for all the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the season."

The Mid-America Region sends two teams to the national tournament and consists of all Pop Warner cheer squads from 12 states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Both teams had advanced to the Regional cheer competition by winning the Chicagoland Conference competition back on October 15th at Joliet Catholic High School.

The Midget-level Cheer Squad consists of: Danielle Becker, BriAnna Cox, Zylyn Henry-Jenkins, Haley Nelson, Arianna Rabiola, Mallory Sharp, Tiffany Viggiani, and Mackenzie Burke; Coaches: Lisa Torres, Lissa Becker, Arnetta Henry

The Junior Pee Wee Cheer Squad members are: Alexa Arquiza, Cindy Baryla, Adriana (Jisselle) Contreras, Tegan Hathaway, Natalia Kadolph, Avery Kapusinski, Megan Lemezis, Jorden Litton, Grace Rivera, Isabella Zollo, Victoria Zollo, and Gabby Wilson; Coaches: Debbie Zollo, Brandi Kapusinksi, Brittany Ritacco
